Did you know that…?

 

  • Every elementary classroom in the Ash Grove school district has “SmartBoard” or “Promethian Board” technology in use?

 

  • Ash Grove offers many high school courses which can be taken as “dual credit” so the students can earn college credit while taking high school courses?

 

  • Ash Grove applied for A+ designation from the state which will allow all qualifying graduates, starting with the class of 2013, to receive two years of college education for free?

 

  • Ash Grove transports juniors and seniors to Ozarks Technical Community College every day to take advanced technical courses?  Did you know that Ash Grove Schools pays tuition for these students and that these students earn college credit for these courses while in high school?

 

  • Ash Grove has fed every student attending summer school a free breakfast and lunch for the last three years through a government grant? 

 

  • Ash Grove Schools and community churches have partnered to send food home with almost 100 needy students every weekend so they don’t go hungry using a “backpack” program?

 

  • Ash Grove operates a free pre-school program for 30 students during the school year?  Did you know Ash Grove operates two licensed after school day-care programs for school-aged kids at both Ash Grove and Bois D’ Arc so students don’t have to go home to an empty house?

 

  • The Ash Grove School District has written and applied for a $600,000 FEMA grant which will help build a school and community shelter/safe room in cases of inclement weather, power outages, and tornados?  Did you know that if approved, the new FEMA shelter will include locker rooms, a weight room, and an elementary gym/multi-purpose room which can be used by the school and community for various events and athletic sports practices?

 

·        Ash Grove offers free athletic passes to all senior citizens in the district if they come to the main administrative office and ask for one?

 

  • Ash Grove does not charge student fees for parking, playing a sport, or taking a class (i.e. art, shop, band, etc.) like some area schools?

 

  • You should be absolutely proud of the Ash Grove R-IV School District and what it accomplishes and offers its students?
